Surviving the Disaster Complex

Spectacle and capital have a vested interest in making us feel hopeless. When you feel like there is nothing you can do, you do nothing. You do not undermine the overarching order, the control. THEY have a vested interest in telling us that the problems are so large and complex that we are incapable of understanding and fixing them, because it then creates a monopoly on solutions. Capital establishes itself as the only one able to enact solutions. Then, almost paradoxically, capital gains a vested interest in the marketing of not only hopelessness, but the initial source of the hopelessness, catastrophe. The spectacle is accelerationist in all its desires and actions. It drives catastrophe. It seeks catastrophe. It is a catastrophe. In catastrophe, capital sees profit.
